MAMIKO & AARON WEDDING IN OWEN SOUND

A lighthouse on the water? Check! A mansion of an Inn with a Golf Course? Check! Wild St John’s Wort growing tall in the most redolant shades of pink and yellow? Check! The water glimmering in the morning light and crashing on the rocky shore? Check! A stunning bride and handsome groom? Check check! Everything was aligned to make Mamiko and Aaron’s wedding day in breathtaking Owen Sound, Ontario absolutely memorable this past September.
It was another gorgeous day in Toronto for Caroline and An's wedding this past July and I was so honoured to do #wedding makeup for this radiant #bride and her lovely bridal party. I love outdoor weddings with a glamorous bohemian vibe to them and this one was picture perfect! Here are some of the gorgeous photos by photogarpher Arden Wray.
Also an-ex-Montrealer, Heather and I met on a bus ride one fateful day, when she got on and promptly spilled her coffee on the floor! After sharing a gigantic smile and laugh about this, i invited her sit next to me, figuring there was no more to spill, except the beans! We got to chatting and realizing we had a few close friends who had also defected to Toronto and common interests in film and music. We became fast friends and I was so happy to be part of Heather and John's special day from start to finish, and party with her and the best of my Montreal friends.
What a dreaaaaaaamy couple these two are! Had such a delightful time doing wedding makeup for this class act of a bride and party this past August in scenic Caledon. The photos of this idyllic country day, perfectly captured by Jessica Lee Latone of J.Lee Photography, really show their love in the most beautiful way. We <3 country weddings!
This gorgeous friend's wedding was featured online in Wedding Bells Magazine, where Victoria Chan wrote a beautiful blog post about it and shared some breathtaking photos by Young Hearts Photography. To me, the day seemed like a peaceful Monet painting come to life, or at least I kept feeling I was in the Poppy field at Argenteuil painting, minus the poppies! Seeing Diana walk through a gorgeous green field to meet her groom, Ivan, surrounded by high grass and seasonal blooms, close friends and family, transported me to the French countryside of the impressionists.
Something that always surprises me is when brides have no idea whatsoever about what they'd like for their wedding makeup. Usually I get a not-so secret 'secret' Pinterest board of ideas and inspirations, running the gamut from super natural, "no-makeup makeup" to more dramatic makeup and occasionally, a very trusting bride will say "you're the expert, whatever you think" and then it's party time!!
Ashley and Adrian got married on an idyllic summer day in Toronto, at a fairy tale venue: Casa Loma. The bride has such a great sense of humour and is so easygoing, we shared quite a few laughs with her and her party on the morning of, captured so well by photographer Jon Bardhun at Seventh Step Studios.
A good friend of mine invited me on a wine tour of Niagara with some of her girlfriends some years ago, and Megan was one of them. A whip-smart business woman, with a passion for politics, I found her brilliant and dynamic! It was such a pleasure to meet her again some years after, and share in the morning of her wedding day, doing her hair and makeup with my hairstylist. Here are some of my favourite photos of this glamazon and her handsome beau and beautiful bridal party at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario.
I recently ran into this handsome married couple at a bar and they looked as in love and glamorous as ever. Meeting Josh, Amy's husband for the first time, he thanked me for making his wife look so radiant on her big day- probably the easiest job i've ever had- because let's face it, she is such a natural beauty! Honestly though, this was so sweet of him to say, not only because what woman doesn't like a compliment, right?! but it was also sweet to hear such a genuine ‪#‎testament‬ from a groom, whom we don't often meet on the day of, to his wife's beauty on their wedding day (and always!) and my and my team's ‪#‎natural‬ and ‪#‎flawless‬ ‪#‎bridal‬ ‪#‎makeup‬ style! Knowing most men hate make-up, this was pretty great!
Taylor is a dear friend of a cherished old friend of mine from Montreal and we met before I even moved to Toronto and again at a rooftop bbq at my friend Matt's place around the corner from my house some years later. An opera singer and music teacher with a wicked sense of humour, she is down to earth and has very little diva tendencies, though fully within her rights! I was surprised that Taylor even remembered who I was at the bbq, and honoured that she and her wife Sarah trusted me and my team, with their bridal hair and makeup. We absolutely loved getting to doll-up two brides and had such a blast with everyone in the party at our favourite downtown hotel!
Marie-Eve and i met through another bride Amanda, whose wedding makeup I had done the year before in the Eastern Townships. Marie-Eve and her husband Mike got married on a vineyard in the peaceful Eastern township of Farnham, Quebec, on a gloriously sunny summer day.
This was simply one of the most memorable weddings I've ever been part of! Davina and Daniel are a powerhouse couple of award-winning, International wedding photographers from my hometown of Montreal.
The Kortright Centre for Conservation was the perfect setting for Brenna and David's November wedding. A wildlife biologist, Brenna and I instantly hit it off when we met at the Kortright Centre's open house, where she visited my booth to ask me about wedding hair and makeup. Bonding over our nerdiness or deep love of the natural world, depending on who you ask, I was so excited to meet a kindred spirit and collaborate with her and her party on her big day. Brenna also got to meet my dear friend and milliner Blair Nadeau at the open house, and chose a gorgeous piece to adorn her updo and some delicate leaf necklaces as gifts for her bridal party, a nice souvenir of the day, spent amongst the trees.
Cristina and Marcelo's picture perfect wedding was captured by Westend Studios and was featured in the 2016 winter/spring edition of Elegant Wedding Magazine and on their blog today! Check out the story here and see all the gorgeous makeup I did for the bride and bridesmaids! Such glamazons!! The Doctor’s House was the perfect location for this winter wedding!
In early June of 2017, I travelled to Italy to do hair and makeup for a gorgeous wedding, in arguably, the most scenic region of the country, Tuscany. The ride from Florence to Tuscany is always such a journey in time- from the noisy hustle and bustle of an endless sea of tourists in the ancient city, to the serenity of the endlessly verdant and poppy-filled rolling hills, one feels the instant slowness of the countryside, the sun visible from every angle, hardly any tall buildings to block it's rays for miles.
Collaborating with #photographer Whitney Heard in #Paris this past June for Steven and Nicole's #wedding was exhilirating! Doing the #bride's makeup in the historic Grand Hotel on rue Scribe across the street from the Palais Garnier, felt nothing short of glamorous.
