Toronto wedding dress designer Catherine Langlois’s latest collection is called Love Blooms. Redolant, floral lace appliquees on silk and organza, in a breathtaking array of softest pastel roses, blues and beige, to brighter pinks and greens, are classic complements to more modern two piece tulle gowns, and gauzy, palest robin’s egg dresses. Truly timeless pieces that have a very French ‘savoir faire’ feel to them. Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s the silk covered buttons, but every details is flawless! These gowns are perfectly complimented by the looks Toronto Makeup Artist Maya Goldenberg crated for this designer’s latest: whimsical , watercolour eyes with rhinestones and shimmer, smokey eyes and barely there gloss, to sophisticated berry stained lips and a colourful tone on tone eyes that mimic flowers in bloom.
Women are leading the sustainable wedding industry ahead and Toronto is no exception!
It was a truly an honour and a pleasure to collaborate with an incredible group of women entrpreneurs, vendors and artists on this soot! From sustainable wedding planner Wendy La, photographer Rebecca Wood, Floral designer Tellie Hunt of Hunt & Gather Floral , Lover’s Land and Catherine Langlois and shooting at one of my favourite local venues, Toronto’s own Steamwhistle Brewery.
Collaborating with Jonathan Ball from Westend studio is always a treat and this creative bridal shoot was no exception! With coordinator Amanda from @openskyweddings, this shoot came together so smoothly and the photos, as featured in The Wedding Co show every detail beautifully. Had a blast doing makeup for this one!
Kira and Jordan got married in a micro-wedding during the pandemic, with only their closets family and friends. Shanna was on hair duty and did the most beautiful styling for the bride and her mother and mother-in-law, while I did everyone’s makeup. We were so honoured to share a small part of your big day with you Kira! Thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding makeup and hair styling! XOXO
Simone and Josh got married on sweltering summer day in beautiful Rosedale last year. Under a canopy of tall old trees in Simone’s parent’s Rosedale garden, her family of musicians filled the air with song and the ceremony took place with an intimate group of family and friends in a sound bath that was so serene and beautiful, it seemed a little unreal!
Everything about Mackenzie and Amir’s sunny wedding day in Prince Edward County was absolutely dreamy. I was so happy that this day turned out as beautifully as it did, for this sweet couple, including a well deserved feature in THE KIT, as the photos by Rust & Bark did justice to every perfect detail of this celebration of love.
It was so much fun to be back in Prince Edward County for Lauren and Cody’s wedding last summer. Although they got married at The Old Third, Maureen and I got Lauren and her party ready at the oh-so-modern and tres chic, Wander the Resort, nearbye.
It was such a beautiful sunny day for Alysa and Laslo’s wedding at the scenic Sir William Mackenzie Inn, in Kirkfield Ontario last September. Maureen and I were honoured to be a small part of this beautiful bride’s epic day and we had so much fun with her and her bridal party, getting everyone glam , naturally! Thanks for having us!!
Port Perry is an enchanted place and it was the perfect spot for this charming couple, Laura and Mike’s wedding day. The mist rose as we arrived and gave way to clear blue skies by the time we had completed everyone’s hair and makeup.
Laura and Taylor tied the knot in the lushest venue we’ve seen in a while: the Burlington Botanical Gardens! We’re so grateful to Laura for sharing these beautiful photos of the morning and day of her wedding. It was such a treat to get her and her party glam, naturally! Thanks again for letting us share in a small part of your big day, Laura!
It was such a perfect summer day to drive up to Owen Sound to do makeup for Mercedes, for her and her partner’s engagement shoot with photographer Whitney Heard.
The light was so perfect, and Shannon Petrolito was on hair and I was on makeup and we did Mercedes hair and makeup outside, as it was simply too hot to go indoors. While we got her glam, her young daughters asked us about lipgloss and what eyeshadow was for. Suffice it to say, the morning was sweet and we had a blast and ended up going to Sauble beach when we were done! Best. Day. Ever!
Samantha and Jacob’s backyard Toronto wedding was a first for me! First, because I had never done Sam’s makeup before but perhaps more notably, I had never done makeup for a bride who is also a triplet!
Sustainability is beautiful. Here’s why you should choose a clean, green-beauty specialist for your wedding, portrait or red carpet appearance!
For the last five years, I’ve been delighted to share in the creative process with wedding accessories designer and friend Blair Nadeau, and photographer extraordinaire Whitney Heard!
These two are such a beautiful couple and it was such a treat to be part of their big day! Here are some behind the scenes photos I snapped and then some much better ones Nicole was gracious to share with me. Cheers to summer love!
To say this wedding was a high light of my YEAR would be an understatement!!
One of my favourite getaways in Ontario which I discovered a few Septembers ago on another wedding, is Owen Sound. The majesty of Georgian Bay makes the 3.5 hour drive from downtown Toronto worth it- as the deepest royal blue waters unfolds before my eyes, I catch myself gasping every time. I feel the ancient-ness of these waters, something wild about them and deep yet serene- reminds me of the ocean and yet, it’s got it’s own specialness to it. I really can’t explain it but I love this location more than most for anything, especially weddings!
Fall is my favourite time of year for weddings. Maybe the metaphor is too simplistic, but food and love are so intertwined in my world and the time of the harvest seems like it makes the most sense, as the best time to get hitched! When baskets are overflowing with everything, the richest colours adorn the trees and our tables, the sweetest honey oozes out from the hives, I feel love in the air!
